Table
Decorations Story from I Do I Do Creations Magazine
Issue 2
Your
wedding table arrangementcan be as creative
as you like, and give an ambience to your reception
that reflects your personalities.
You can be extravagant, or you can create something
at a minimal cost, with just a little thought and
a bit of creativity.
Talk to your friends, family or florist and you will
be amazed at what you can create. There are also function
accessory companies that have everything from centrepieces
and chair covers to a large range of bombonieres and
decoration ideas.
When choosing table decorations
think about your style of wedding or whether you want
to have a theme. For example, if you are a beach person
or having a reception near the beach you can use shells,
sand and seaweed in your decorations.
If youre from the country or have chosen a country
wedding you might like to use wheat in your table
decorations.
Table decorations can also be matched to the colour
of your gown or the bridesmaids gowns. Other matching
items could include candles, napkins, flowers, place
cards, ribbons and even boxes and bombonieres.
When deciding on table centres
take into consideration the space available - they
do not have to be over extravagant to look great.
Remember to keep them low or high so that when guests
are seated, the table decorations do not block someones
view or hinder conversation between guests.
Always remember, florists generally are the most creative
people and love working with you and giving you ideas.
Never be afraid to ask for their advice and input.

When
choosing candles as part of your table decorations
check with your reception centre for any restrictions
or conditions.
Buy good quality candles as cheaper ones can burn
quickly, spit wax and be toxic in an enclosed area.
Some helpful tips...
Candles kept in the fridge before lighting burn
a lot slower
Candlewick cut in half adds to burning time
Try not to place candles directly under an air conditioner
vent as they will burn more rapidly
Buy non-dripping candles, as they are less messy
Scented candles may affect some guests if they suffer
from allergies and hayfever
