For The Guys
Story from I Do I Do Creations Magazine Issue 1
The introduction
of make over reality showssuch as "Queer Eye",
has given guys the opportunity to take pride
in their appearance and look just as totally
gorgeous as the girls!
These
days, it's not only women that have a beauty
regime; the guy's are finally getting
in on the act. So call a beautician, get some
advice, and book in for some facials, maybe
a manicure, even a pedicure, and of course don't
forget the waxing!
You could even take your
groomsmen in for some 'sprucing up' treatments.
What a great gift idea!
Key
Points
Firstly, your hair.
Guy's take the time to go to your hairdresser and
have a trial. Let the hairdresser get familiar get
familiar with you and your hair. You don't want to
surprise everyone on the day with a new do!
Don't forget the fragrance! A good aftershave
is a must, so go to your local department store and
sample a few. Find out which one you and your lady
absolutely adore, remember, she's the one you have
to please.
Great sunnies on the day are a must. Remember,
you're likely to be out in the sun all day, and sunnies
look great in photos.
Buy a comfortable pair of
shoes, a pair that you're likely to wear
again. You're going to be on your feet all day, and
don't want to spend your wedding night soaking your
feet because they're covered in blisters!
Now the honeymoon! Sort out your wardrobe
before you go. Bear in mind the climate you're travelling
to, so if you're heading for the sun, pack a good
shirt for all those romantic dinners with your new
wife and throw in your shorts, T's and a light jacket.
If you're a romantic kind of guy, treat your new wife to a special gift.
Although this is not traditional, it adds a wonderful
touch of love and appreciation to your special day.
After some ideas? How about some sexy lingerie, her
favourite perfume, or a special piece of jewellery
you've had created. To make it even more romantic,
place it on her pillow on your wedding night.
Speeches are usually
left to the last minute. Not a good idea. Preparing
your speech early is only going to make things easier
for you on the night. Talk to family and friends.
Get feedback. You want your speech to be memorable.
Your socks. Ensure
that you and your groomsmen have matching socks. As
much as you may love them, footy socks are NOT 'the
go' on the day. Make sure your shoes are nice and
shiny. A well polished shoe completes your look.
Your Groomsmen. Make sure that your groomsmen are aware of their responsibilities.
You don't want to come to the time to put the ring
on your beloved's' finger, only to find your best man
isn't sure where it is!
Eskie Rules! We
all know that refreshments on the day are a must,
especially the time between the ceremony and reception.
Remember to think of the girls. Champagne , some glasses,
cold water, even a thermos of coffee, maybe even a
platter of cheese and biscuits will ensure everyone
has been catered for.
Don't forget the last minute
essentials. Sun block, lip gloss, safety
pins, mints and band aids are all items that you may
need on the day.
