Katie Holding & Antoine Lavigne - 11th December 2010 Photography by Crimson Tide
Antoine and I love wine and food so
the reception venue was a crucial decision.
We planned our wedding based on the
availability of our favorite country Victorian
restaurant, Oscar W’s, and to ensure guests
could mingle and enjoy the wine and food
we choose share platters placed in the
middle of six long tables. We wanted the
table decorations to look unstructured and
wild and to also complement the amazing
view outside, so we used a mix of eclectic
jars and bottles and wildflowers to create
a look that was a reflection of both of our
styles. The name place cards were hand
written and wrapped around the napkins
with a sprig of rosemary and twine.
After spending the months leading up to the wedding working in India, I was excited to spend time with Antoine and 80 of our closest friends and
family. The wedding was held in my hometown, by the river where I grew up, and is a special place to both of us. Antoine and I love to walk down by the river
when we’re home visiting my family. Originally we had planned to hold the ceremony at the nearby Moama Wharf, however just prior to our wedding day the
wharf went under, during flooding in the area. Just two days out from the wedding we were lucky to secure the sought after Echuca Wharf for the ceremony.
